WEEK 13th

Quizzy quiz....

I did not expect that there will be a quiz set for us today....i was counting on not to attend class as my car fuel is almost empty (lazy to fill up)..12.30pm,i was still on my bed when i switch on my lap top and signed in to YM (Yahoo messenger)...and suddenly ,Nad is online..She told me that there's a quiz set for us today..in no time..30 minutes, i drive my car...(ala ala mat rempit ...) as fast as possible to be on time..
Luckily, eventhough i came in almost 1 and a half hour late, i still managed to sit for the quiz..and i completed it in less than half an hour i guess...not that i'm so good, but because the quiz was really tough, ( i did not prepare and did not go through the notes in moodle before i sit for the quiz)
I was puzzled when i saw the first question.. PLEASE is an acronym for? what i thought was PLEASE...that please you know..like please help me? i was thinking...so all this while the polite word of PLEASE is an acronym?? i thought it's a word of expressing politeness when you want to ask for something from others..
Only after looking at the 2nd question, i began to remember that the acronym of PLEASE has been mentioned by prof. maznah in class before..haha i was silly!..i did not even answer that question correctly anyway..because i forgot what are the letters stand for...

but anyway i managed to get 5 and 1/2...ok la tu kot..hehe..for someone who came in late and did not read at all..

And this is the last PKEY 3101 class.......i'm sure going to miss all those sweet and bad moments during the class....GOOD BYE MY FRIEND ,IT's HARD TO DIE...WHEN ALL THE BIRDS ARE SINGING IN THE SKY..waaa,...so sad..bubbye..

WEEK 12th

THE TEST!

I've been waiting so long to get rid of it..

At last it's over!

The test wasn't that hard..basically it's about asking for our opinions on certain things that we have learned through out the semester ( in PKEY3101 class of course.)
I managed to answer as good as possible on the questions that i have selected..hopefully i score for those questions..GOD please help meeee...heheh!

Eventhough the test is over and the class is almost coming to an end..i admit that i love PKEY3101 class a lot and i'm gonna miss the tutors and Prof.Maznah as well.
I love this class as it has taught me a lot of new things, and has widen my world..especially through blogging..Now my blog has become some sort of diary as well as a family album i bet..
( But i love putting up latest photos for my friends to view! so what i can do with that,,,hope no one mind..anyway why should anyone mind, it's my own blog after all.. ")P. )

Not only on blogging, this class has too open my mind that there's a huge spectrum for the teaching and learning to take place...especially when the smartboard is being introduced!..I learn various ways of how smart board could be used in the teaching and learning process! It was magnificant and wonderful to explore things that have never even came across your mind before. I'm sure none of my collegues heard about the smartboard before this..the smartest board that i knew before i met smartboard is just the white board..(instead of green.

all is the matter of smartboard! Fare well smartboard..see you again some other days.. uwaaaaa....

WEEK 11th

Continuity from last week...

Our turn..the next half..

My group presented one of the lesson created by Nurul Farah. Nadiah was the one who presented that particular mathematics lesson.
And the rest of the groups presented theirs too that day. So all the presentations on the IWB trolley assigment is over with satisfaction!

To sum up about the assignmet..i honestly feel that this task has taught us a lot..not only taught us how to use the smartboard tools,but more than that.Beneath it, are the most important elements..creativeness,patience, and cooperation! Though, there are some pitfalls evoked while we are on the journey of completing the i would say multiple objectives assignment!

The most important thing is, i my self enjoyed a lot doing it!

WEEK 10th

The presentation of the assignment on SMARTBOARD begins...(THe fisrt Half)

Wallaaa! They all did a magnificant work! My gosh..Peik Jin managed to create 100 slides i heard..and Azlan created 50! Wow..they really work hard and we all can see that.
But anyway, everygroup had done a good job..they all have created a very creative and interactive slides.
My group was not chosen to present yet this week..so that's mean next week will be our turn.At least we still have the chance to edit and add on what ever that is necessary to our slides after looking at our friends' works..at least we got more ideas and learn something from what they did.

I learn that many of them linked their activities to the websites. Waaa....tak aci! But that was smart..i did not know that we could do that! It is not easy anyway for me..i'm not good at doing back stage stuffs..haha..can't be a production crew..only can be the hero..heheh!

let's see what's up next week with my groups' work after we compiled everyone's part.

WEEK 9th

ALL ABOUT DESIGNING LESSON USING THE SMART BOARD..

We divided work among the group..My group is WINTER..I was to do a lesson for science subject..

At first a found that it was really hard for me to do this task! I was like screaming to myself why i have to do this silly thing. I don't think that when i become a teacher, i would do this again.No way! Waste of time and makes me headache!

I don't even have heart to do this, i did not put my heart to the task at first which had made the rest of my group members angry at me and made me felt guilty and a little angry too,because i did my part eventhough it was not good their eyes..but i feel that was ok., but they thought that i did not think critically! Hah, what critical thingking ?.. i even don't want to get close to them anymore! Huh...it was really tough with this SMART BOARD stuff!

But then, I tried to put my heart onto the 'job'..and I managed to create a lesson on ' Animals' life cycle'.Only after I got an idea of what topic of the lesson that I want to create,I began to feel not too depressed by the task..I started to think what to do and how to do it so that my lesson would not only look good but also contains a good quality of content which could probably be one of a good material to be taught in class when Ibecome a teacher next time.

And sincerely,i enjoyed doing the smartboard assignmnet very much. I miss it everytime i don't have a chance to go on working on it (sometimes distracted by my little Aisya)..and when i switch on the computer, i get really excited to work on it..the part that i love most is attaching animations and creating activities with them. It was really fun! I keep on editting, changing this and that all the time just to make my slides look eye catching, fancy, cute and adorable to everybody (baring in mind : the students)

From only 7 stupid slides i created earlier..i managed to create 14 slides with lots of fun animations and activities! Eventhough others might think that i still did not do well, but i am satisfied with my work, because i have done the best i can..and i did it by heart!

And the main thing that i kept in my mind is, to make sure what to be taught is clear and clarified through the activities..

SO SCARED OF THE ICT TEST!

...i'm singing it to my self....huhuhu...i couldn't shut my eyes..i'm so scared...scared of tomorrow's (today's, actually) ICT test..just a few hours to go...
i don't know what to expect...i have no idea what questions have been set for us..
All i'm hoping is that the question will not be that hard,and that i'm able to do it ..
I read lot's of friends' blogs, comments, and notes on the ICTPE website to get my self prepared for the test...but i'm still afraid..afraid that i did not read enough...Please God make it simple!

8th WEEK

Work on our own

Prof. was not in..so we worked on our own , completing our task..the smart board assignmet. It's quite hard since we are not really familiar on doing smart board activity..hopefully we could come out with interesting lessonz and activities for English, Science and Mathematics subjects..

Perhaps, this assignment makes us better teachers in the future!

Smart board :lesson presentation

7th week..

We learned how lesson can be presented by using the smart board. It really is interesting..SZe Mei was asked to present a story teling using the slides provided through the use of smartboard..and i found that, that was eye catching!
Next, we were explained on how to create a lesson and activities using smartboard software to be presented to the class 2 weeks after..that's all for this week..

SPOILT MERDEKA NIGHT!

I went to KLCC last night, with my husband, baby Aisya and my maid..We went to celebrate The 50Th MERDEKA DAY! I arrived at KLCC at about 8.45pm..I was very excited and can't wait to see the beautifull fireworks just like the past years.While waiting for 12midnight, we went shopping in ISETAN, my husband bought a coat together with the pants and i bought Aisya a pair of new shoes..And as we finished, we walked heading to the garden, i saw plenty of people out there, but i was quite curious and wondering how come we could easily reach KLCC and could easily find a parking lot too.In my mind, i thought that may be those people would not want to be stucked in the traffic jem that's why they don't want to park their cars down there..Nevermind..but then, as we reached the exit to the garden, one man came close to us and say, "you can't go out there sir, and there's no event here at all tonight!".." The government did not allow KLCC to hold up any events, because they want all the events to be held in Stadium Merdeka and Dataran Merdeka." What the xxxx???! I was really upset since i really want to see the 'bunga api'..We went home..we did stuck in the traffic jam on the way home,.and when 00.00 came..everybody honk! WE vdid too..There comes MERDEKA!.. but i couldn't see any fireworks from the place we were queeing in the traffic jam..(in front of SOGO)
The thing is,i dont understand why they don't allow everypart of Malaysia to put up events and celebrate MERDEKA crazily! Why must restrict to that 2 places only! this is the biggest merdeka day ever, so why not make it really big!i just dont understand..at least give them guidelines rather than not allowing at all..not only me, a lot more people who went to KLCC last night are frustrated.

This week we get to know more on the smartboard..By the way,what smartboard actualy is? To my understading, it is an interactive white board.The full-featured SMART Board interactive whiteboard is incredibly easy to use. If you can use a computer, you can use a SMART Board interactive whiteboard.
The touch-sensitive display connects to your computer and digital projector to show your
computer image. You can then control computer applications directly from the display,
write notes in digital ink and save your work to share later.It is very convenient especially to teachers and students.Other that that,with the use of SMART Board interactive whiteboard, teaching and learning process will be much much more fun and interesting with the various color available, as well as images.
The touch sensitive screen makes it easier to use.You do not need to use mouse which sometimes difficult in detecting the cursor in order to click on the next arrow to go to the next slide/page..all you have to do is touch the screen with your very own fingertip.That's all..I wish the school that i will be posted to has this very intelligent board so that i can make full use of it!

MERDEKA POSTER

it's the fifth week..DISC (Designing for interaction and students' collaboration)
I enjoyed this week's class a lot..it was because we was able to create something really interesting and i would say challenging..creating a poster for the 50th Malaysia's independence day.The poster's theme is Malaysia my country.
It was actually a competition poster for 10 to 12 year-old primary school pupils, they are required to use microsoft power point to create the most creative poster.

And today we were given the opportunit to express our love and proudness towards our country MALAYSIA through poster.We have to design a A4 size poster, regarding our group's interpretation of merdeka and we have to justify our reason for each part in the poster we have created.
were given about half an hour to complete the task..and we did it, radically..hehe..that was because my group misunderstood what we were supposed to do..we did not use the pictures given in order to paste on our poster, besides, we took other pictures that signifies Malaysia and the developments she has gone through through out the years of merdeka..but we did ask for permission from the invited tutor that day,Puan Nazirah from MMU, and she's one of Prof's RM's student)and she allowed to use them..and at the end, we was the only group (WINTER) to present the poster in front of the class without following the exact rule..and that's why our poster has become the most eye catching one..
We did face difficulties during the session due to lack of idea to write a motto..but at the end we managed to write 'ONE LEGACY ONE DESTINY'.
Actually, the instruction given by the instructor,wasn't very clear enough to us..that's why we did to follow the exact rule..because we didn't know that we were supposed to attach the that they have provided on to oor poster. I would rather suggest that,it is practical if the pupils were allowed to use what ever source of pictures on to their posters, and not only restricted only to the pictures given.
If I were to carry out this design session with primary school pupils, of course i would allow the pupils to express their creativities based on their own choices, because i believe that children will be able to do better we they are given opportunity to do thing their way..That's it..take care!

Learning the principles..

In the fourth week's technology class..Ms.Ng has discussed further on Chapter 1, Brennan..regarding ICT and the principles of learning in the primary school curriculum..There are 14 principles that have to be followed in primary school learnings based on ICT.
From the discussion held, i get to know and identify the principles clearly as well as understand the purpose and advatages of those principles and learn on the strategies used in teaching and learning using ICT.
Besides that, we've also been introduced to e-learning..such as e-portfolios,e-bahan..in conjunction with the ETeMS program.
Prof. Raja Maznah have also given us a group task, which we need to find more on what is ETeMS, e-bahan,and MyCD and do a powerpoint presentation to be presented in the following class.I guess, basically that's all what we learned this week..besides preparing for the presentation..see you later alligator!

Learn power point clearly at last..

Third week.Power point..

Before this i only know a little on power point, so little..that i only knew how to merely write but didn't know that i could do a lot with it..oh, how silly i was when everyone around me start using power point to do presentations while i only stared with no idea of how to do it..that's why i rather choose OHP when presenting topics in class..so silly me!
But after the third class which was on power point presentation,presented by lecturer named Ms.Ng, i get to learn more on power point..i saw how power point presentation could grasp and drag the attention of the audience..it was so eye catching looking at the power point presentation made by a man named Dick ..i forgot his full name actually..but his presentation was funny and smart...
I saw how a power point presentation can make what you are presenting become more convincing to the audience, you can emphasize on words you want to say by jot it down on your presentation so that your audience are clear with what you meant or what you wanted to explain to them..Moreover, you can upload pictures to show the prove or to explain more on what you've presented..Now i think i'm able to use power point to do presentation,and i'll try to use it frequently to make my self good at it.Thanks to Prof.Raja Maznah as she made my wish to learn more on power point come true..The only thing that i'm looking forward to do is to create creative power point presentations creatively, as creative could be..i'll try.

Did presentation on GMAIL

In our second PKEY 3101 class, we did not learn much from Prof.Raja Maznah, as we were given a task to be done in groups. However, she reminded all of us to not to use the word ‘basically’.i’m not really sure why..but I think it’s quite similar to the usage of ‘actually’, it’s some kind of malaysian style I guess.
My group consists of 4 members and we had named our group as WINTER. A task that was given to our group is to find the description and usage of GMAIL and to make a 5 minutes power point presentation based on the topic given.
We were the third group that have presented on the day.however the presentations on tasks are not yet over and it will be continued on the next pkey3101 class.
Instead of presenting our task, I also get to know a lot from the other groups that have presented theirs. I learned on the benefits of using yahoomail,hotmail, as well as about using email. I found the presentations was very useful and has given me a lot of knowledge regarding the use of emails and get to identify which is the most beneficial, I think is gmail because it contains a lot of privilages such as googletalk, blocking spam messages, automatically saves recipients’ email address and more.that’s all for now..

What i've learned this week (PKEY3101)

Our first PKEY3101 -Technology in Primary Education class was on Wednesday 12.00-3.00p.m.Our lecturer for this particular subject is Prof.Raja Maznah and she has introduced to us in detail regarding the subject .
I acknowledged that this subject would be very useful to all of us as teachers in the future, as we learn how to use and apply the existing technologies in our teaching and learning process in school.The innovation of technology would make life easier for everybody especially in the school context (to teachers and students).I would be a fun,interesting and an exciting learning process to students with the use of technology available such as the use of smart board in the classroom.
As for teachers,it helps in transformation where teachers can become more creative in teaching,with the help and the use of MYCD, internet and/or microsoft power point .
In today's class, we have learned about PLEASE which is the acronim for Personalized learning environment and students engagement.In todays ICT scenario, there are digital immigrants and digital citizens.We are the digital immigrants and today's generation who are born in the digital environment are the citizens of the digital world.
We've also learn PoEIT, Pedagogy of Engagement Integrating Technology.It's more about not being afraid to engage in technology,personalized physical environment and physical virtual,empowering and learner centric.According to Bowen,2005 ;What is meant by engagement here is the students engagement with the learning process,with the object and objective of study,with the context of the subject of study and with the human condition.
I also get to understand that learning is facilitated when learners are engaged in solving problems, this is when existing knowledge is activated and new knowledge is able to be demonstrated.The new knowledge will be applied by the learner and integrated into the learner's world.
What in my mind is, how can we apply the use of technology to students who lives in rural area (if we are posted for teaching somewhere there)and are never been exposed to the use of technology before? It sure would be a very hard jtask for the teachers to teach them as well as hard for themselves to learn things by using technology,as a result of never been using or even heard the jargons used in the world of ICT.

Welcome to my site..i've never been blogging before..but i found out that this is the best way on how i can express what's on my mind regarding anything ,i supposed!! and i'm beginning to realize that this world is so big and borderless!that you don't even need to know who you are communicating with..in the case that some one who doesn't know you but come across to view you blog and post a comment to you..that's a communication somehow..So, happy blogging to all bloggers out there!!
